Ride Local

A local ride sharing services to connect young people in rural areas to learning and development opportunities

Ride Local is a community-based ride-sharing platform targeting young people in rural communities. Ride Local is premised on the concept of community sustainability and the very real problem of a lack of public transport in rural and regional Victoria. Young people often need to travel large distances to find work. Ride Local links young people needing lifts with community members who may already be commuting to regional centres regularly. This will help young people be able to continue to stay in their local towns as they will have the ability to maintain employment that may be farther away. This helps communities to grow and thrive.

The idea validated through interviews with and the lived experience of local people and businesses from rural communities.
