Draconic Transparency

Enabling conscious, sustainable consumer behavior

A conscious buying decision requires a reliable, uniformed background information about production conditions, grey energy, fair trade issues, ecological aspects and the region of origin of goods or products. There are several initiatives and a multitude of labels providing non-functional information about goods and products – but there is not one common standard allowing a holistic view on sustainability aspects for comparing goods or products concerning these criteria.
Regional and supra-regional governmental organisations have a strong impact on industries and therefore are capable in managing such standardisation endeavours. The project in hand is about creating a uniformed, holistic sustainability labelling standard, an associated data base and interactive tools for raising awareness for sustainability aspects and changing consumption behaviour by serving citizens with reliable information in an appropriate way.
