Global Service Jam co-initiators at GovJam in Canberra
Markus and Adam, the initiators of the Global Service Jam, will be supporting the GovJam in person at the Canberra mother ship.
"We are very excited to be working with the Australian government in this exciting event," says Adam. "The team in Canberra ran an amazing Global Service Jam, and we are sure that GovJam will lift the roof."
"A lot of people have worked very hard to make this happen," adds Markus. "Thanks to everyone involved, especially Mik Griffiths and Wayne Larkin at the Department of Industry, Innovation, Science, Research and Tertiary Education; and to Damian Kernaham of Protopartners. We are looking forward to working hand in hand with them, and jamming a great Jam."
Adam and Markus will assist in facilitating the Jam in Canberra, and leverage the global Jam community to bring in insights and expertise to assist the Australian Jammers.
Markus Hormeß and Adam Lawrence started the Global Service Jam phenomenon (and the "sister event" Global Sustainability Jam) in 2011. The latest Global Service Jam saw over 3000 Jammers in 85 cities worldwide jamming for 48 hours, producing designs for more than 300 services around the theme "Hidden Treasures".
"We are keen to see how the energy of the Jam will work in a public sector environment", says Adam. "This pilot event could be the start of something even bigger."
