Thanks for GovJam

on Sat, 06/09/2012 - 08:13

What a week! The first ever GovJam pilot has wound down, with Jammers worldwide uploading their contributions to the Jam website. Well done everyone!

We had all sort of folks, from public service employees to government ministers, from farmers to fairies, from professors to students... And they all rocked the public sector! We had 48 hour Jams, 2 hour Jams, and everything in between. The results were amazing - we are just starting to look through them. Why not take a look - and maybe leave some comments?

GovJam is Rolling

Hi everyone!

After a grand opeining by surprise star-guest and Jam supporter Minister Kate Lundy (accompanied by Star Wars stormtroopers, Boba Fett and Darth Vader), the GovJam is underway in Australia - and in the UK. Thanks to all the Jammers in Canberra,  Brisbane and London!

Check out the Storify page to follow some of the Jam discussions and see the pics - especially of Senator Lundy with her stellar friends. :)

And - POW! - we're international!

Sometimes the Jam community just blows us away!

As you all know, the GovJam is a Pilot event. We are experimenting with some new formats, based around what certainly will be a polished and professional Jam in Canberra. One new idea is the Satellite Jam - smaller meet-ups all over the world, with various formats and timeframes, where people Jam to the same theme or work to support the Mothership.

We launched this idea pretty late (just two weeks before the Jam!), and we weren't sure if anyone would be interested - but the Jammers really came through!

on Sat, 04/21/2012 - 16:43

Markus and Adam, the initiators of the Global Service Jam, will be supporting the GovJam in person at the Canberra mother ship.

"We are very excited to be working with the Australian government in this exciting event," says Adam. "The team in Canberra ran an amazing Global Service Jam, and we are sure that GovJam will lift the roof."

Inspire Innovation

on Sat, 04/07/2012 - 18:22

GovJam will be a two day event or people in the public service to learn and apply their skills and experience in designing better service delivery.

A GovJam is about jamming ideas with other folk in government, and designing better ways to deliver services for your department or agency. This is an international workshop that will see Canberra based staff jamming with Public Servants in Australian Capital Cities, and potentially around the world.
